Apply for a Cyprus work permit
If you are a non-EU national planning to work in Cyprus, you will need a residence and employment permit. This permit is employer-sponsored and linked to a specific role and company.
At Prism, we guide both employers and professionals through the entire process. The application is submitted to the Civil Registry and Migration Department and requires an approved employment contract, valid health insurance, police clearance, proof of accommodation, and a bank guarantee.
Permits are typically granted for one year and can be renewed annually. While family reunification is possible, employers must demonstrate that no Cypriot or EU national was available for the role.

Types of work permits in Cyprus
Domestic work (DW)

Remunerated employment – single permit (GEN)
The standard “single permit” combines the right to live and work in Cyprus. It is used for most categories of paid employment with local companies, provided the job offer has been approved by the Department of Labour.
Employment – other cases (non-single permit – NSP)
Covers employment situations that fall outside the single permit framework, such as posted workers, certain categories of trainees, or special roles that require separate approval. These permits are handled case by case with specific requirements.
Seasonal work (ESW)
For short-term, temporary jobs in sectors like agriculture, tourism, or food processing. Seasonal permits allow third-country nationals to live and work in Cyprus for a limited period, with a maximum duration defined by law.
